LEI registration fees in India
LEI registration fees in India start from ₹3,300 per year with LEI India, powered by LEI Worldwide the global LEI Registration Agent. The exact fee depends on how many years you register for at once. Register for a single year and you pay the standard annual fee. Register for multiple years and the price per year drops.
That’s the headline. The detail below covers what the fee includes, what makes prices differ between providers, and how to pay less over the life of the LEI.
What the LEI registration fee covers
The fee pays for registering your entity in the Global LEI System and publishing your LEI to the public register. Your entity data is validated, the 20-character code is issued, and the record goes live on the Global LEI Index where banks and regulators can check it.
The fee is annual because an LEI has to be renewed every year to stay active. So when you compare LEI registration fees, you’re really comparing the yearly cost of keeping the LEI valid, not a one-time charge.
| Registration term | Price per year | You save | Apply |
|---|---|---|---|
| 1 year | ₹3,900 | — | Apply now |
| 3 years | ₹3,580 | 8% | Apply now |
| 5 years best value | ₹3,300 | 15% | Apply now |
All prices are per year and include registration, validation and publication to the Global LEI Index. Already have an LEI? Renew or transfer it here. LEI Worldwide is a GLEIF-accredited Registration Agent.
LEI registration fees explained
An LEI registration fee usually has two parts, though providers bundle them differently.
There’s a registration or service fee, which is what the provider charges to process your application and manage your record. And historically there was a separate GLEIF fee, a small annual surcharge that issuers collected on behalf of the Global LEI Foundation. Most providers now quote a single all-in price, which is simpler to compare.
With LEI Worldwide, the price you see is the price you pay. From ₹3,300 per year, your entity is registered, validated and published, with no separate charges added at checkout.
You can also apply for an LEI certificate separately, the LEI certificate is different to the LEI Registration, as it is i simply a PDF downloadable proof of your LEI which may be downloaded and sent to an investment manager or a regulator such as SEBI or the RBI.
Why LEI registration fees differ between providers
Every LEI carries the same data and sits on the same public register, whoever you register with. So why do fees range so widely?
Speed and service are the difference. A cheaper provider may hand you a form and leave you to it. A provider that verifies your entity against the company register by API can issue the LEI quickly and catch errors before they reach the register. LEI Worldwide verifies your entity through a direct registry connection, so most LEIs are issued instantly.
The other difference is what happens at renewal. Some providers advertise a low first-year fee, then charge more to renew. Over three or five years, that works out more expensive than a flat, multi-year price. When you compare LEI registration fees, look at the multi-year total, not just year one.
How to reduce your LEI registration fees
The cheapest way to hold an LEI over time is to register for multiple years at once. A multi-year LEI lowers the fee per year and removes the annual renewal step, so you don’t risk the LEI lapsing between renewals.
If you already hold an LEI and you’re paying a high renewal fee elsewhere, you can transfer it to LEI Worldwide. The transfer is free, the code stays the same, and your renewal comes to us at our pricing from then on.
LEI registration fees for Indian entities
For companies, LLPs, trusts, funds and other entities registered in India, the process and the fee are the same: from ₹3,300 per year, registered and published to the Global LEI Index. The Reserve Bank of India requires an LEI for various borrowers and for large-value and cross-border transactions, so many Indian entities register because their bank has asked them to.
We register and manage LEIs for Indian entities as a GLEIF-accredited Registration Agent, operating since 2017.
